Memories

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today for my third January post for D-lish Scraps.   I'd like to share with you another layout .... "memories"

This snapshot...was taken while I was visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia... I absolutely loved seeing these temples in Cambodia, it is on my wish list to go back one day and spend more time exploring them...  I used a few different stencils with pan pastels and inks to create my background, and then added some extra detail with some stamping...

I decided to use the black Monochrome Mini Kit as the base for my page.... this is the first time I have used one of these new kits... and I have to confess, I love them, so easy to put a layout together, Amanda really has done half the work for you... I think I may have to invest in a few more of these...lol...
Here I have used one of the flair buttons with the wooden heart, which I coloured using some Inka Gold along with some of the coloured wire. and one of the little Hydrangea Petals, along with some of the sequins and a Journal it's minifetti.... all of which was in the Monochrome Mini Kit.  I have also added some of the mini heart sequins, these are not part of the kit...

also in these wonderful kits you will find a sequin bow and the kits are wrapped up with the cotton twine... Here I have taken one of the Acetate Butterflies (not in the kit) and chopped it up and added it to the sequin bow  to create a 3D shinny butterfly...

Just a close up to show how I inserted the wings in-between the bow parts to create my 3D butterfly... check out how cute it looks...

here is a close up of more of the minifetti from the kit... perfect little sayings...

So a close up of the large daisy flower, more of the Hydrangea Petals, sequins, resin flower and coloured wire... Here you can also see the second flair button from the kit... and I also have scattered some more of those mini heart sequins, that are not part of the kit...

So these Monochrome Mini Kit  also contain a coloured doily, bitty bag and a wooden frame...  I coloured up the frame using some Inka Gold...

Just one last  pic to show off the stencil work I did... I am loving this Prima stencil at the moment...

Now don't forget the Cyber Crop is on this weekend, and I hope to see you all pop in to The Scrap Suite for some fun, inspiration and challenges...

till next time

A Good Day

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today for my second January post for D-lish Scraps, I'd like to share with you another layout .... "a good day"

the title says it all.... this was a good day... a little cold, but a good day... hubby and I had just finished the Grand Canyon Skywalk and we were exploring the Native American Village they have there at Eagle Point...

I chose to use this flair button as my title, it just suited the photo so well...  it is from the "sweetly scripted kraft" set... I love this flair set, just full of great words...
Around my flair I wrapped a small amount of the blue/natural cotton twine and added a bitty bloom to the cluster... I layered some coloured tulle under the photo edge and added a Journal it's Library Card...

Here is a close up of the coloured tulle, and you can see how I stretched the edge of to make it appear torn.... I also added one of those fabulous Freckled Fawn paper clip arrow... I love these they just look fabulous and come in such awesome colours....

I used the Scrap FX nautilus shell (large) and painted it up with some magicals (Lindy's Stamp Gang)... isn't it a fabulous chipboard piece, I love it...
And I have tucked another of the Journal it's Library Cards under the photo...

One final pic with a bit more of the coloured tulle, the blue/natural cotton twine and a couple of the bitty blooms to finish off the layout...

I'll be back again tomorrow for my final January post for D-lish Scraps...

so till then

Cherish

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...and welcome to my first post for the new year for D-lish Scraps .... Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created .... "Cherish"

To create this layout I began by using the packaging from a 12" Prima stencil.... Prima always has such pretty packaging it is a shame to just throw it away.... so I don't... and this stencil packaging makes a wonderful base to create on...

To create my background it seemed fitting to use some of the Prima media.... I used some  gold crackle texture paste, glass beads and mica flakes... before spraying and dripping some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays...

Here you can see all the D-lish Scraps goodness that I used ... I had to include some of my favourite metal filigrees and mini metal flowers... My large rose came from the brown Trellis Roses pack... these trellis roses are just gorgeous... the smaller roses are from the Medium Roses packs...I used a couple of the little Forget-me-knots from the brown pack as well... Finally to finish off my cluster I used a couple of the gold Spiral Stamens... I know that Alz loves these spiral stamens and this is the first time I have used them and I have to say... I'm hooked, they are fabulous...

to finish off the layout, I used the Scrap FX 'cherish' title coloured up with some Wink of Luna metallic pens and a touch of Wink of Stella pens for a little glitz...Now remember if you don't see a Scrap FX product in the store, you can request for Amanda to get it for you... I also used a wordfetti saying, I love how there is always something that works for your layout on these wordfetti sheets.... and finally I stamped the edge of my layout with some stitching...

I hope you enjoyed that, and I'll be back with more soon...
till next time

Create

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share a plaque I created for Scrap FX "Create"

I have had the Supersized Alphaletters for a while now and have been wanting to make a wall plaque  and I finally found the time to get to it... these letters are approx. 24cm tall...  I painted up a wooden panel with the Prima chalkboard paint, it gave great coverage and there was no need to gesso the raw wood first which was a great bonus...

I chopped up the "Artwork" title and coloured it up with some Inka Gold...

I decorated up the letters with the Harlequin stamp with embossing powder and then sprayed them up with Lindy's sprays, then used the Scribble Script Stencil and some Viva modelling paste over the top...

I again painted up the "Drawing and Sketches" with Inka Gold... Scrap FX has so many fabulous titles for all topics... I love these creative themed wordlets...

and one last pic of the last title used " Imagine"... again coloured with the Inka Gold...

The Ancient Site

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created for Scrap FX "The Ancient Site"

I absolutely loved Cambodia, visiting the ancient temples... this is a pic of one of my favourites... Ta Prohm, this temple was used in the movie Tomb Raider...

I coloured a couple of the chippies from the Cambodia theme pack with Inka Gold... this allowed me to keep all that gorgeous engraved detail in the buddha...

loved this title, "the Ancient Site" just perfect for my photo... again I coloured it up with Inka Gold...

I created some background texture with the Wood Grain Stencil, and coloured it up with some gesso and Lindy's sprays... and I used some of the fantastic stamps available from Scrap FX.... Flourish Swirl Stamp, Picket Fence Stamp and Chicken Wire Stamp

Products used:
Flourish Swirl Stamp
Picket Fence Stamp
Chicken Wire Stamp
Wood Grain Stencil
