Wonder

Hi thanks for joining me here today... I'd like to share another layout created for Scrap FX...
the layout features one of my favourite photos of my nephew Bryson, we had spent the day at the zoo, and I managed to capture his wonder, he was mesmerized...

I got creative with my background creating the plenty of colour to match with my image using loads of Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays...

I created loads of great texture using the Hexagonal Stencil (it's definitely a fave!) and the Random Dot Stencil....
The title "Wonder" was created with the Scrap FX  Alpha Circles (I cut the circles away)...
I also used a Darkroom Door Rubber stamp to create that cracked pattern on the layout.

The Scrap FX twisted reeds was used to embellish the layout.

and to finish the layout off..."Reflections" subtitle, I cut off the 's'  as my image was a single reflection....

Scrap FX products used in this layout:

that's it from me for today,

Scrapbookit DT work

Hi thanks for joining me here today,
I'd like to share with you another layout I have created for Jo over at Scrapbookit...
In my kit this month from Jo I had some Kaisercraft cardstock(watermelon), Prima  paintables and some Manor House flowers.... none of these pieces worked for me with the challenge work I designed for her but I wanted to play with them, so this is what I came up with....

the pic is of two of my gorgeous nieces, Hannah just loves her new baby sister so much... always wanting to give her cuddles, so so cute....

I used gesso to tone down the cardstock colour, added texture with the Scrap FX Artscape stencil, sprayed  the background, a couple of paper doilies, and one of the Manor House flowers to match with Dylusions bubblegum pink... added Scrap FX chipboard script alphas and the together midi word.... love those midi words, so intricate and delicate ....

a close up of the background texture...

So don't forget you can get all these products from Jo...

Another take of the Scrapbookit January challenge...

Hi I hope that those of you here in the southern states of Australia are surviving this heat wave we are experiencing and that you all stay safe from the fire threats...
Today I want to share with you a layout I have created for Jo over at Scrapbookit...
the layout is to follow along with the current challenge:

For the January challenge (find the original post and full details here)

you have to create a project choosing at least 3 of the following criteria :
 · add a banner title
 · use layers of patterned paper
 · ink the edges of all patterned papers
 · use a die-cut cluster
 · add rhinestones
 · add an embellished tag
 · use a journal box
 · use a Kaisercraft patterned paper as your base
 · scraplift the design (treat it like a sketch).
Email your entry to joanne@scrapbookit.com.au by Jan 30th.

so for this layout I have inked all the papers, used layers of patterned papers, used a die-cut cluster and a banner title, well subtitle....

Here is a close up of my background... I used the fabulous Scrap FX Petal pattern stencil to create the texture... along with some gauze for an added layer... also used one of the fantastic Scrap FX chipboard titles, Little Angel... describes my new niece perfectly...
And remember Jo has all these great products or can get them for you...

this close up shows the die-cut clusters from the ephemera pack (My Minds Eye, Lost & Found Record it, Heirloom collection), along with the paper layers from the same collection ( Formal, Sweet, Splendid and Glamorous).... I also used the wooden Kaisercraft alphabet for my subtitle...

I hope you enjoyed my second take on the January challenge, if you wish to revisit my first take you can see it here....
I hope you will be joining in on this great challenge, I look forward to seeing all of your projects... and don't forget you can get all these products from Jo...

Have you heard the news, the Scrapbookit retreat is coming up in March, you can come and join Jo and the whole design team there, email Jo (joanne@scrapbookit.com.au) for all the details.... I would love to see you there...

Perpetual Calendar

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.
I'd like to share with you a calendar I have created.
I had wanted to create a calendar for sometime now, but didn't want to have to replace it every year, so decided I needed to make a perpetual calendar.

So with that in mind I set about designing.
The major challenge I faced was how to change, days, dates, months and years.

Using the Scrap FX 12" x 12" chipboard sheets as a base to create the general box for my calendar, allowed me to work on the front and back as separate pieces....  which made it possible to create box cavities for the date/s and cutouts for the rotating months and days.
I used cotton spools to create the rotating months and days for the calendar.

I thought the Scrap FX midi word title "forever" fitted perfectly with the perpetual calendar.
I also used the Scrap FX crosswords stencil to create all the gorgeous texture all over the calendar.

The final challenge was the storage of all the date and year tags.... I was able to create yet another box cavity using the Scrap FX 12" x 12" chipboard sheets and this time also a hinged door to keep all the tags enclosed until needed.

I used Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to colour and washi tape to decorate, along with flowers, gauze and beaded trim... and a couple of bookplates and embellishments to finish off.

Scrapbookit January Challenge

Hi everyone, today I want to share with you my take on this month's challenge over on the Scrapbookit blog... the challenge this month was set by Dale Tiernan, here's her criteria...
Create a page using at least 3 elements from the list below

· add a banner title
· use layers of patterned paper
· ink the edges of all patterned papers
· use a die-cut cluster
· add rhinestones
· add an embellished tag
· use a journal box
· use a Kaisercraft patterned paper as your base
· scraplift the design (treat it like a sketch)

I had loads of fun deciding which one's to choose ....
A fun shabby layout of my hubby and I...
Using the fabulous My Mind's Eye  Lost and Found, Record It Heirloom range of papers (Adored, Formal, Beautiful,Splendid) and embellishments... such a gorgeous range in lovely soft pinks and browns... just gorgeous!!

Lets start with a close up that shows the die cut cluster, (so there's the first one off the challenge list) they can all be found in the MME's Record It Heirloom Ephemera Pack....
I also used the new Scrap FX anchor and chain, coloured and texturized with Ferro... and I even made one of the Tim Holtz rosettes using another of the gorgeous papers from the MME Heirloom range...

Next here you can see the layers of the gorgeous printed paper, and that I have inked the edges of all paper used, so that makes 2 more off Dale's challenge list...
You can also see a close up of the Kaisercraft tiny wooden letter alphabet used to complete the title, and some more of the die cut 's from the MME Heirloom ephemera pack...
and if you look closely you can see the texture created on the paper layers using the Scrap FX scribble alpha stencil and some impasto....

Finally I created a banner title, (so I think that gives me a total of four from Dale's challenge list)...
it was a fun challenge so I hope you'll all join in and have a go this month....

Just remember all these wonderful products can be found at Scrapbookit....
