Owly Canvas

Hi everyone thanks for joining me here today...
I want to share with you all a canvas I created recently "Owly"

I had loads of fun creating this canvas....
I used the Scrap FX Artscape stencil to create my background texture.... along with gelatos, inka golds and silks to colour it all up...

I used old book pages to make the branches and claws...

I used Cat food tins and some D-lish Scraps flairs for the pupils of the eyes....

Again I used old book pages to create the feathers...

More book pages to create the beak...

My upcycled owl was inspired by the recent D-Lish Scraps challenge Alz set at the September cyber-crop and the colour choices were inspired by the September challenge at Crafters Cupboard...

Dear Ol' Dad

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

It is my turn over on the Scrapbookit Blog again today and I'd like to share with you my latest layout, "Dear Ol' Dad.

This photo is of my dad and his mates from his national service days...and I used the Kaisercraft Mix and Match papers to create this layout.

I used the Scrap FX title "Dear Ol' Dad"

To create the background texture, I used the Scrap FX Ice Shards stencil with some modelling paste.... I love the shapes created by this stencil, so many uses...
I used the printed tags and the kraft envelope for my journalling.

I used the Kaisercraft Mix & Match papers to layer behind the photo, and added some of the Kaisercraft twine for more texture...

This is my last post for Scrapbookit as my DT term has come to an end... thank you Jo for having me on your team, I've loved creating with and sharing your stores products.

Altered Fun

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a project I created for a bit of fun with some Scrap FX and a load of Lindy's Stamp Gang products....

My Altered Guitar; Timeless Beauty.
This guitar was found in the junk pile of a thrift shop, they didn't even think it was worth selling, how wrong were they.... thanks to a friend of mine, I ended up with it, and I had so much fun altering it...

I started with a gesso base coat to give myself a workable surface.
I used pan pastels to colour and shade her face.

I used the Industrial Chic Starburst spray set to colour the guitar and flowers, this is still my favourite Starburst set, I totally love them....

I used lots of the Scrap FX  Flourish D flourishes around the flower clusters.  I painted up these flourishes using the LSG magicals powders and a wet paint brush, the Industrial Chic set of course. Using the magicals instead of the sprays allows you to get a more concentrated colour and shine.

I created lots of texture in her hair. I coloured it with more Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays, and I gave it sheen and shine with Lindy's two tone embossing powders in bronze, copper and gold toning's.
I used the Scrap FX title Timeless Beauty again painted up with magicals and the Flourish F flourish also painted up with magicals in her hair.

to finish off the neck of the guitar I used the Scrap FX Flourish V, once again painted up with the Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals.

Baby it's cold outside

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the latest releases from Scrap FX  "Baby it's cold outside"
When I saw the new title "Baby it's cold outside" I knew had had the perfect photo... Henri all curled up hiding under my hoodie, doesn't he look like he's trying to keep warm...

I used the Ice Shards Stencil with ink to create the border and background...

to create texture I used the new Snowflakes Stencil... isn't the detail just gorgeous, so fine and delicate...

Another one of the new flourishes Flourish 11 Swirl, love it.... One of my favourite things about working with chipboard is the flexibility it gives you...  this new flourish originally encroached too far onto my photograph, so two quick snips and I could adjust it to suit perfectly....

Check out these wonderful acrylic snowflakes, they come in a pack of three...
aren't they stunning...

And as I said the title was just perfect for my photo of Henri; Baby it's cold outside, I painted it with gesso and then used some stickles to give it a little sparkle...

New Scrap FX

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new releases "Wonder"
I adore this photo of my nephew with his reflection... he was totally mesmerized

This month Scrap FX released a new stencil "Ice Shards Stencil" isn't it fantastic.... just look at those shapes...
So I used modelling paste with the stencil to create all this gorgeous texture, and water colour pencil to highlight the shapes...

This month Scrap FX also released some new flourishes, this one is Flourish 12 scribble... isn't it gorgeous, I love it... I think it's my new favourite flourish...  also in this release were some more new mini titles... I used the Wonder, mini for this layout, isn't it awesome, I am loving these smaller titles...

Scrapbookit September Challenge

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

It is my turn over on the Scrapbookit Blog and I'd like to share with you their latest challenge. This month it was Mel's turn to set the challenge and being that in September we celebrate those special males in our lives with fathers day, Mel has set her challenge around the male theme...

Here is Mel's Challenge:
Create a layout/project that includes the following:
*Masculine theme
*the words "My Hero" included in the title
*4 patterned papers
*Washi tape
*Twine/Ribbon
*At least 1 handmade embellishment

This month I thought I would share what Jo sent me to work with , so you can see a sort of before and after effect...
So this was the contents of my DT pack for September.... lots of yummy kraft coloured goodies, perfect for the challenge set by Mel...

So here is my take on the challenge:
So I started with the kraft cardstock as a base for my masculine themed layout, and used the Scrap FX woodgrain stencil (Jo stocks the Scrap FX stencils, everyone should have a few in their stash)... I then sprayed the entire background with Lindy's stamp Gang sprays.
I used 4 printed papers behind the photo and in the rosettes, and I also used some of the gorgeous embossed papers Jo sent me, you really should check them out...

for the my hero title, I used the Kaisercraft Mix & Match sticker sheet

I created my own rosette embellishments from a couple of the Kaisercraft Mix & Match papers...

I used the a couple of the tags and some washi tape from my stash to meet the challenge rules... and finished them off with some of the Kaisercraft twine....

To see what I get up to with the rest of the pack, you'll just have to come back later in the month...
I hope to see you joining in on the challenge, I'd love to see your take on it....

till next time
happy creating,
